H.E. currently holds several high positions in the State of Qatar, including as a member of the Supreme Council for Economic Affairs & Investment, Chairman of the Boards of Directors of Al Rayan Bank, Qatar Stock Exchange, the Advisory Board of the Investment Promotion Agency and the Qatar Financial Center Authority. H.E. is also the Deputy-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Development Bank and a Member of the Boards of Directors of the Qatar Investment Authority and Qatar Energy. Throughout his extensive career, H.E. has held several other key supervisory positions. From March 2018 until October 2021, H.E. was Deputy-Governor and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Central Bank. and Deputy Chairman of the QFC Regulatory Authority. From November 2018 until October 2021, H.E. also served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Financial Markets Authority. Previously, H.E. was Director of Risk Management at Qatar Central Bank and also served for five years as the Secretary of the Personal Representative of His Highness the Amir for follow-up affairs.Fahad Al Khalifa is a seasoned banking professional with over 25 years of experience in leadership roles in financial services.  He was appointed to the role of Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Masraf Al Rayan in 2021. Before joining Masraf Al Rayan, he was the GCEO of Al Khalij Commercial Bank since 2014, and successfully oversaw the merger of both institutions to result in one of the largest Shari’ah compliant banks in the region with an international presence in the United Kingdom, France and the United Arab Emirates.  Mr. Khalifa brings extensive experience and expertise to the firm to facilitate the next level of the bank’s development. Throughout his career, he has held prominent positions in Qatar’s leading financial institutions to include Qatar Central Bank and Qatar National Bank (QNB), where he held the positions of Group Treasurer and GM Group Corporate Banking and Financial Institutions. Mr. Khalifa graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Seattle University, USA and has a successful track record covering general management, strategy, mergers and acquisitions.\n
